WEB GEMS- Top 6th: Jon Garland robbed Darin Erstad of a base hit.
Center fielder Jim Edmonds smacked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Jon Garland
allowed Mike Wilson to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the
Detroit Iron Gloves defeated the Dyersville Jurassics 8 to 5 at the
ballpark.
The Detroit fans enjoyed the offense provided by Edmonds. He cleared the
fences for a two-run home run in the 3rd inning and smashed a bases-empty
'big-fly' (his 16th of the season) in the 7th inning. Detroit finished with
11 hits in the victory.
Garland(8-0) lasted until the end allowing 5 runs for the win. Aaron
Harang(1-4) suffered the loss. He served up 3 gopher balls in 3 and 1/3
innings.
